I'm actually surprised there was 3...that is considered a lot by today's standards. I wonder how many there will be for the weekend event. I really miss the good old days of 20 though.

I logged in a few days ago just to check out how well codex arena is doing, prime time on a Sunday, 2 districts both not full.

Anet should have saved the resources, too little too late.

i'm not suprised codex is dead, it was badly designed if the aim was to get people to play and have fun

There's 4 some days, even 5 on the weekends. Just depends really but after ~ 6 EST / 11 GMT its basically down to 1 with a handful of pugs. There's a little more activity on quest days but it's not a huge amount. For the double weekend it will probably get up to 15 districts but let's be honest, it's mostly going to be swayers just like the last double...oh joy.

I just remember HA struggling to fill 1 district 2 months ago.

That guy who said codex was badly designed. You are incorrect. Codex arena is a great idea, it will fail because the game is badly designed with respect to 4v4 even more than it is with respect to 8v8. TA was one degenerative set of teambuilds for months. Codex arena will and is a degenerative build every week unless by random chance no overpowered skill is selected.

Codex would have been better if they had used sealed deck rules. Sealed deck rules would pull about 12-15 elites a week rather than 50. Pulling the same # of skills rather than the same % of skills gives an advantage to the younger classes and a disadvantage to the older classes, this is especially bad when you consider that your old classes are your staples of warrior, ranger, elementalist, and monk.

No, codex itself was badly designed. The intrinsic design difference that much favors 8v8 over 4v4 just confounds the issue. Take codex arena rules and apply them to HA or GvG, it will still be bad and not played; that is codex's fault, not 4v4 vs 8v8's fault.

They made a TA clone when TA failed. Bad idea, I love the idea of a codex arena but like they said, the idea was to attract more casual gamers/PvErs and it fails at that. Why? Because you need 5 wins for a point they wanted to make it PuG friendly, but all it is, is PuGs getting steamrolled by other teams going to the 50+ consecs and so on.
